Cena was
established in 1972 in hope of continuing on the tradition of the imperial
kiln. Mr Ziren Hsu, the founder, united the talents of Japanese, Hong Kong and
Taiwan to craft Taiwan’s very first fine porcelain. Cena’s pieces are made with
the finest materials and utilize natural gas-fired kiln technology imported from
Japan. In addition, the emphasis on glaze development sequentially influenced
the direction of Yingge Taiwan’s ceramic industry after the 1970s After Mr Hsu
passed away in 1978, Cena began to use his name “Ziren Kiln” as its seal mark
to commemorate the founder’s lifetime achievement.
